December 2016

The December ACTS trip to Honduras focused on operationalizing the new comprehensive health center including setting up and stocking the new pharmacy with $8000 of pharmaceuticals, integrating the staffs of the medical and dental units and orienting the new nurse and doctor to the special needs patients. The ACTS team was made up of Sue Burgos, Dean Seibert and Linda Kennedy.

The first 35 graduates from the El Rosario computer class were celebrated at an enthusiastic event and their diplomas are certified by the government.

The team caught up with a large shipment generously shipped from Vermont to Pennsylvania to Honduras by our corporate partner New Holland Apparel. The shipment included a truckload of firefighting equipment for the Yoro fire department, another truckload for the Yoro Hospital and one full of clothing and household goods for the people of El Rosario.
