An ACTS team of five spent two weeks in Honduras in December of 2013. The team met with leaders of all of the El Rosario committees including Clinic, EducationCenter, Communities and Committees United, Health and Development, Teachers Committee of Locomapa and members of the micro bank. A visit was made to Heifer International in southeastern Honduras and to New Holland Apparel a large U.S. manufacturing firm with plants in SPS through which ACTS will be able to ship large items and bulk supplies gratis to Honduras. Useful personal contacts were made with the Director of New England Corps of Ignatius Volunteers, the Administrative Director of Maestro En Casa, Anthony and Teresa Coello, booksellers and coordinators of PIALI, and the Associate Director of the YoroHospital who is responsible for supplies. A visit was made to Carrizalito on behalf of Engineers Without Borders N.E. Patients with disabilities were visited in Los Planos and Piedra Parada. Construction plans for a dental clinic in El Rosario were advanced and assistance in bookkeeping was provided to a number of organizations.
